Signed proofs of original printed works by the accomplished wood engraver and etcher Frank Hill were almost unobtainable until around 15 years ago, when the contents of his studio came onto the market. His widely varied subject matter ranges from topographical to portraiture, images of dancers, and the occasional imaginary subject. Frank Hill exhibited between 1926 and 1930 at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and at Manchester City Art Gallery’s annual salons.
